What's Up With That?

Is it me or has the Obama administration completely lost track of their mission?  THERE'S OIL ALL OVER THE GULF.  WHAT PART OF "STOP THE OIL LEAK NOW!!" DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND!??  Seriously, how many disasters do the folks on the Gulf Coast have to suffer before the people in Washington take notice and do something substantial to help them before they are irreparably impacted?  I hate to say this, but considering how long it took Obama to get to New Orleans, it might as well have been George W. Bush.  In fact, he might have gotten there sooner.  Come on, show some leadership that isn't politically motivated.  He is so busy trying to help the Democrats salvage their majority in Congress he hasn't had time for the thing we elected him for, LEADERSHIP!  The Democrats wouldn't have to worry about their standing if they would just lead.  Instead, everytime they say something, the Democrats have to look at the Republicans for their reaction and then decide what to say next.  The Republicans, who were shell shocked in the last election, have decided to just oppose everything the Democrats propose.  And, Wa Laa, it got them back to relevancy pretty quick only because those knuckle-headed Democrats couldn't help but gauge Republican response everytime the Democrats did or said anything.  The Democrats couldn't even go to the bathroom without checking the Republican response, which had a few of them holding it a little too long.  Who cares what they think, YOU CAN OUT VOTE THEM.  WHAT GOOD IS A SIGNIFICANT MAJORITY IF YOU ACT LIKE YOU DON'T HAVE ONE!!  And what is this about Democrats voting with the Republicans on Bankruptcy and Bank Reform in favor of the banks?  HELLO, HOW DO YOU THINK WE GOT IN THIS MESS???  The Obama administration up to this point has done little to effect the lives of the everyday American, the ones who's homes are in trouble, the ones who've lost their jobs, the ones who are having trouble making ends meet in spite of working, the ones who have been devastated by disaster.  You know, US?

African-American vs. Ebonesian

We Black people can't figure out our identity. We think we are most closely aligned with Africans and thus think of ourselves as primarily of African descent. In reality, we are an indigenous people group to this country. We represent the best of all the other people groups whom are all immigrants to this land. All the other people groups traveled here from somewhere else. WE WERE BORN HERE. That makes us natives to this land. We are made up primarily of African, Indo-European, Native American peoples with some Asian thrown in for good measure. Don't forget that Mexican people are made up of European and Aztec and Mayan people. We are a mixture of many people groups. African slaves were brought here and mixed with the White slave owners. Freed or escaped slaves mixed with Native American (Indian) peoples. Some of us have taken that and mixed it with Asian people. Is it any wonder that Tiger Woods referred to himself as a Cablinasian? We are not any of these people exclusively. Certainly we are NOT African-American. That would be someone like our President who is a first generation progeny of an African and an American. We are polyracial, made of many ethnic groups. No, we need a new name that gives us indentity and dignity. We should dispense with calling ourselves African-Americans and call ourselves Ebonesian. Prof. Robert G. Walker, Professor Emeritus, San Francisco State University first coined this term. In his essay "The Ebonesian Village", he says it refers to a person who is polyracial and disassociates themselves from racial labelling. When next you have to identify your race or ethnicity somewhere, cross out African-American, unless that really applies to you, and write in Ebonesian. We are Ebonesian. Beautiful in color, with all of our magnificent shadings, rich in culture from cooking to music to art and beyond, dignified in appearance and standing, wise in the ways of this world and this country, intellectually equal to all and second to none, and spiritually grounded to a firm foundation. WHO ARE WE? WE ARE EBONESIAN!
